WHAT COULD WE CELEBRATE ON OUR 250TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
We can celebrate 250 years of independence as a nation, but have we upheld and honored the Declaration of Independence’s claim “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?” Clearly, we have not! But what we can celebrate is that we have continued to do better, be better and improve our nation. Except for the last two years! We have been going backwards.
AND THE CRIMES GO ON
There are clear and compelling reasons for impeaching Donald J Trump! If we had Republican members of Congress with the integrity and courage that Senators Barry Goldwater and Edward Brooke and Representatives Lawrence Hogan and Caldwell Butler had in 1973, President Donald J. Trump would already have been impeached and convicted!
Greenland
All this talk about taking Greenland from Denmark must stop! We are no longer the leader of the free world, but we still should not attack our allies. And any Republican in Congress who does not speak up now to stop this talk about starting a war to take Greenland must be thrown out of office this year or as soon as possible.
The Waste Continues
Starting in Los Angeles activation of the National Guard has been a prime example of waste and inefficiency! ICE continues to ignore the illegal immigrant felons arresting workers and American citizens and then deporting them without the required constitutional due process or even trying to determine whether they are in the United States legally.
OUR GOVERNMENT IS NO LONGER MORAL OR A REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY
There are an estimated 260 million adults in the United States with 245 million eligible to vote. Only 152 million voted. Trump got only 49.8% of that vote, less than half. But even fewer of American adults wanted him to be president! Obviously not a mandate!

After trying to make President Zelenskyy grovel in the White House, with his attack puppy Vance’s help, and force access to minerals without negotiations or a trade deal, President Trump has canceled our military support for Ukraine.
ANY HOPE?
I have modest hope that some of the damage that Presidents Musk and Trump are doing may be limited by federal judges. They have stopped the ridiculous Executive Order to override the Constitution by eliminating birth citizenship. It’s evidence of the incompetence of his advisors that they even presented this to him.
The King Makers
The Republican majority in the Supreme Court, led by a chief justice who cares nothing about the ethics of the justices, in Trump v. United States, has not just placed the president above the law, they have placed him beyond the law.
Defending Ukraine is More Important than Supporting Israel
One of the things that I find most distressing is the House Republicans reluctance to support Ukraine in its battle against Russia. As I discuss below, support for Ukraine is critical, a top priority!
