Continuing to list Trump and his minions’: including his cabinet, the U.S. Navy, Air Force and probably the Army and Marines’ and the congressional Republicans’, crimes with the harm they have done to thousands of people would just be redundant. I have listed more than enough for Trump to be impeached and convicted and for many generals, admirals, and even lower ranked officers, including the pilots who attacked Iran, to be court-martialed or discharged from the military.
King Charles, in his speech to Congress, talked about the separation of powers that has been a tradition in both our countries. Republicans stood with the Democrats to applaud. Have they changed their minds and will do their jobs, or was this just hypocrisy? I think hypocrisy! Neither Congress nor the Supreme Court are active members of the three branches of government. The Congress never is because subservient Republicans have a majority, and the Supreme Court only occasionally. Senator Turberville of Alabama didn’t even know the three branches of government when he was running for the Senate!
VOTE!
But never for Republicans unless they are on the record against gerrymandering, will restore USAID, support masks off and cameras on for ICE, are against starting wars and murdering people in small boats, and are not liars.
There are tens of millions of good Americans: good parents, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, and even neighbors who don’t vote the way I would like. But 40% to 50%, depending upon the election, of them never vote. If they don’t like what the present administration has been doing, they have themselves as well as the 29% of American adults who voted for Trump to blame. I don’t even consider them to be good citizens. They’re just freeloaders! People who don’t vote simply don’t care about the country. Thinking that the parties are all the same or that their vote will make no difference are flimsy and irrelevant excuses! We all must become informed, make a decision, and vote!! But not for Republicans!
The only way things can be changed is for the people to not vote for Republicans for Congress or for any state or local offices to ensure that they are incentivized to become
moral and support a republican/democratic form of government. For now, we should only vote for Democrats and not even third parties! Unfortunately, it will be difficult for Democrats to obtain a majority in the Senate and impossible to get to the two thirds majority necessary to convict Trump. But we must elect as many Democrats as possible to restore morality, a willingness in Congress to support the rule of law, and restore Congress as one of the three branches of our federal government. Congress was intended by the founders to be the primary branch, but it has become subordinate to the executive branch.
I give you my word that if Republican gerrymandering is ended and Democrats gerrymander, I will stop voting for Democrats, any Democrat.
DEALING WITH ANGER
I have cut down on the amount of news that I watch because I become so angry and I really can’t do anything about it. I’m trying to look out at the backyard and appreciate the fact that life, nature, goes on and will go on without us. We are continuously damaging nature and causing extinctions, but even if we wipe out all life on the surface, bacteria underground will continue to live and evolve. Who knows what kind of life would evolve after we make ourselves extinct!
Meditation is supposed to help and perhaps I will try it. I don’t understand why it’s called “mindfulness” because it’s really about emptying your mind, not running through the same repetitive thoughts and not paying attention to what’s going on while meditating. When thoughts interrupt the meditation, I think that we are supposed to just say “oh” and let it go. Perhaps I can occasionally let go and breath: in through the nose, out through the mouth. But I will still be disgusted with what our government has become and what it is doing to our country.
